The history of Chinese as a Second/ Foreign Langauge (CSL/ CFL) Education is not as long as ESL. While ESL has bunch of graded reading materials for different groups/ ages of people, CSL/ CFL does not.
Here, I want to introduce my recent finding on Chinese online story books -- "LangLang ZhongWen: Chinese Graded Reading" (http://www.yes-chinese.com/reading/).
This website offers Chinese graded reading from Pre-K to Chinese Classics. Users can choose their levels on the top buttons of the website. For each level, the website offers different story books with authentic reading. Users can choose either sentence or vocabulary reading by clicking their mouses over the sentence buttons or vocabulary. Unlike Google Translation, this website's sentence reading is natural and not segmental. Also, if click individual words, users can also see the meanings of the words in English. Therefore, even non-Chinese speakers can read this website's story books for their children!
